Chelsea Flower Show 2023

Wasting Time

Design work

Our floral bin, entitled ‘Wasting Time’, will encompass a cascading natural twig structure with colourful, eye catching, seasonal, British flowers, housed in mostly recycled miniature tonic bottles as water sources.

Within the cascade we will position a variety of naturalistic clock faces symbolising the passage of time and the urgent need to act now .

We will construct root like structures, using natural materials, to symbolises our connection with the earth and the destructive thought that ‘The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it’

Sustainability is our core ethos with the take away message being we must act now to safeguard the future of our planet.

Integral framework & Roots

The Integral framework will be constructed from interconnecting wooden sticks forming a cascading structure that encases the bin, overflowing towards the ground and symbolising our intense consumerism. Within the cascade, naturalistic clock faces made from log slices will slowly catch the viewer’s attention and highlight the message that time is running out. This cascade becomes entwined with the more naturalistic roots (created from natural materials e.g. Moss, hay, raffia) and symbolises the need for people to change their habits now, working with nature for a more sustainable future.

As a small flower farm based in rural Nottinghamshire we are extremely proud to be part of RHS Chelsea Flower Show. It is a show we have visited and been inspired by for many years.

Never did we dream that one day our home grown stems would be on display amongst the greatest of all things horticultural.

'THE GREATEST THREAT TO OUR PLANET IS THE BELIEF THAT SOMEONE  ELSE WILL SAVE IT '
